Become A Supporter

The Heartland Water Resources Council (HWRC) of Central Illinois is a 501(3)(c) organization, dedicated to “Saving the Peoria & Pekin Lakes”. We are at a critical point in our efforts to “Save Peoria & Pekin Lakes”. A comprehensive strategy has been adopted and important projects have been identified. We are currently raising dollars to carryout the required detailed design work in order to move the necessary projects forward. Unless this next step is taken, it is unlikely that we will be successful in getting others to do this work for us and Peoria Lakes will continue on its unaltered course of becoming nothing more than mudflats and willow trees in the near future. We, as a region, cannot afford to let that happen. However, unless we act now, it is inevitable!
